About Lite Wallet

About Lite Wallet

A non-custodial Litecoin wallet built for the users who actually hold Litecoin — self-custody by default, MWEB privacy on every platform, and no KYC barrier to your own funds.

Open source · MIT·v3.16.0·Non-custodial

Lite Wallet is a non-custodial Litecoin wallet built for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. The project focuses on three principles: self-custody (users control their own keys), platform parity (feature-equal across every supported OS), and privacy (MWEB on every platform). The wallet is open source under the MIT license with all development in the open on GitHub. The current desktop release is v3.16.0.

Mission

Litecoin has been live since October 2011 — one of the longest-running cryptocurrencies in continuous operation. The chain's strengths are fast blocks, low fees, and proof-of-work security on Scrypt. The wallets built around it haven't always kept pace. Lite Wallet exists to give Litecoin users a non-custodial wallet that matches the chain's reach — works on every major platform, supports modern Litecoin features like MWEB, integrates with Ledger and Trezor, and stays open so users can verify what it does.

Principles

Self-custody

Private keys belong to users, derive from a 12-word paper key, and never leave the device. No account. No KYC. No third-party custody.

Platform parity

The same feature set on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Desktop users don't get a stripped-down mobile wallet; mobile users don't miss desktop-only features.

Privacy as default-available

MWEB confidential transactions ship on every platform. Privacy is a choice you make per transaction, not a feature locked behind a specific build or version.

Open source

Every line of Lite Wallet is public under MIT license on GitHub. Issues, pull requests, and releases all happen in the open. Verify before you trust.

Hardware wallet first-class

Ledger and Trezor integrate as primary flows, not as an afterthought. If you store real value on-chain, a hardware wallet is the right default.

No fluff

Lite Wallet is a Litecoin wallet. Not a multicoin wallet, not an NFT marketplace, not a chat app. Ship less, make the parts that matter work well.
