MWEB balance showing zero or wrong? Start here.

Before you panic — an MWEB balance that looks missing right after a transaction is almost always a timing or sync issue. Here's what's actually happening and what to check.

Funds stay on-chain·Usually a sync issue·Support available if not

Check these first

In order — most MWEB balance confusion resolves at one of these steps.

  1. Let the wallet finish syncing

An incomplete sync is the single most common cause of a wrong-looking balance in any wallet, MWEB or not. Reopen the app and wait for the sync indicator to reach 100% before checking again.

  2. Confirm the peg-in transaction itself

Check the transaction on a Litecoin block explorer. A peg-in needs standard on-chain confirmation before the corresponding MWEB balance appears — during that window, the funds are correctly 'in transit' between the standard ledger and MWEB.

  3. Check for a pending peg-out

If you recently sent from an MWEB balance, confirm whether that was a peg-out (MWEB → standard ledger) rather than an MWEB-to-MWEB send — the destination balance type matters for where to look.

  4. Restart the app fully

Close the wallet completely (not just backgrounded on mobile) and reopen it to force a clean resync of MWEB state.

  5. Confirm you're on the current version

Update to the latest Lite Wallet release — MWEB balance display has been refined across versions, and an outdated build may show stale data.

Why peg-in timing matters

A peg-in is a normal Litecoin transaction that sends LTC to a special MWEB deposit address — it needs to confirm on the standard ledger, the same as any other transaction, before the MWEB side of the wallet reflects the new balance. On a busy network or with a low fee, this can take longer than a typical send. Until that confirmation lands, seeing a zero or unchanged MWEB balance is expected behavior, not a bug — the funds are correctly mid-transit, and the standard-ledger transaction (visible on any block explorer) is the proof they haven't disappeared.

Still wrong after all of the above?

If the balance is still missing or incorrect after a full sync, a confirmed peg-in, an app restart, and the latest version, stop troubleshooting on your own and contact support directly rather than experimenting further — see the troubleshooting and support page. Don't send additional funds to test the issue.

MWEB balance — FAQ

No — it updates after the peg-in transaction confirms on the standard Litecoin ledger, the same confirmation time as any other transaction, not instantly.
